ONION 'I'itoi' --Allium cepa 'Aggregatum'--

Rare little heat and cold tolerant spicy multiplier onion important to the Native peoples of the Southwest. Grows about 10 shoots to each scallion-like bulb, great as a cut and come again green onion or chive substitute over much of the year. Rain can knock over the stalks, but they'll stand up again as they dry out. Divide the clumps of bulbs when they go dormant in summer and have I'itoi for life! Each bulb can divide into over 100 plants a year, so you'll have plenty to share with friends and neighbors. The I'itoi Onion is part of the Slow Food Ark of Taste due to being at risk, unique in taste, and culturally important. Help preserve a tasty and rare piece of Southwest history.
