Family Brassicaceae. Edible baby leaves with tart and peppery flavor are usually mixed with other leaf crops to make a mesclun style salad. May be perennial as in the genus Diplotaxis, or annual as in the genus Eruca. Grown for greens in the cool season in Central Texas.
