AFRICAN POTATO MINT --Plectranthus bellus--
Rare and unusual! Leaves have a mint-like aroma and flavor, plus it makes underground tubers that are great boiled, baked, or fried, just like potatoes! Also an attractive ground-cover plant that makes pretty little pink/lavender flowers in spring. (syn. P. rotundifolia) Drought and shade tolerant, pest resistant. Bears tubers after about 6 months.
