Really cool Texas native vine related to morning glories. Striking 5-lobed, deeply cut leaves and glowing white blossoms with red throats, maturing to sturdy brown seed capsules that look like tiny flowers themselves. Blooms April through October, Loves sun, drought and poor soil tolerant, attracts butterflies. Wants to be trellised or placed near a fence or something to climb, tolerant of pruning to shape and direct. In South America, the vine’s tubers were boiled and eaten like sweet potatoes during periods of scarcity.
