Alluaudia humbertii

Extremely drought-tolerant and unusual Madagascar native shrub. Likes to be DRY, and container tolerance makes it a great bonsai. Stores lots of water in its tissues during once-a-year torrential rains, so once the very sandy and well-drained soil has become completely dry, it needs a really good drench.
