BALINESE LONG PEPPER --Piper retrofactum--

Sometimes called Javanese Chili. This is a climbing vine with edible fruit, which is dried and used as a spice or seasoning, with a spicy and aromatic flavor similar to black pepper, but with a warmer, earthier note. Traditionally used medicinally for several purposes, the root, leaves, and fruits. Root extract can be used against mosquito larvae. Wood and root make a lovely brown dye. Some scientific studies have also suggested potential anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and protection against sun-damage aging. Shade tolerant, likes plenty of water, suitable for container, protect from frost.
