BLACKBERRY 'Prime-Ark Freedom Thornless' --Rubus fruticosus--
Thornless means fewer and softer thorns - we have not found a fully thornless blackberry yet. Newly bred variety from U-Arkansas, the first thornless variety that fruits on new growth, or "primocanes" (most blackberries only fruit on stems that were formed the previous year, "floricanes"). Needs nutrient rich soil and full sun, early fruiting and can fruit again in fall if tipped (light trimming after harvest).
