Ungnadia speciosa --Mexican Buckeye--
Texas native shrub 8-12 feet on average, but possibly growing to 30'. Blooms profusely with fragrant pink blossoms in spring like a peach or redbud tree, then forming capsules holding the eponymous smooth, black, spherical buckeye seeds, historically used by children for games of marbles. Drought-tolerant, full sun. Our buckeye are small trees grown from seed.
