Aristolochia californica --California Dutchman's Pipevine--
Climbing variety from the west coast, likes shade and well-drained soil. Flowers copiously with unusual brown saxophone-shaped blooms that attract butterflies in spring. Deciduous woody climber to 12 feet, with large, heart-shaped 6" leaves. Found along stream banks and in moist shady woods.
