ELDERBERRY 'Red' --Sambucus racemosa--

Cool variety with striking red berries! Native to North America and Eurasia. Cooked berries are edible like other varieties with plenty of vitamin C, but do not consume the seeds. Medicinal salve can be made with the leaves. Taller than some varieties, up to 25' of bushy, attractive foliage and can be kept smaller if topped. Birds love the berries.
