Calliandra californica x eriophylla --California Red Fairy Duster--
Shrubby 3-4 foot tall mimosa covers its graceful, curved branches with firework bursts of aromatic pink blossoms in the spring and summer. Likes full to part sun, alkaline soil, super heat and drought tolerant once established. Plant away from walkways - thorns that give it the alternate name "catclaw" are seriously snaggy! Pollinated flowers will form pretty, ruffled seed pods, and can be grown easily from seed. Attracts pollinators.
