Justicia pilosella --Hairy Tube-Tongue False Honeysuckle--

AKA Gregg's Tube-tongue, this is a pretty little purple/pink orchid-like flower with green foliage that looks a little like a tradescantia, though it's closely related to shrimp plant. Blooms April through October, about a foot tall, and likes part shade and poor soil. Great groundcover near trees, attracts checkerspot butterflies. Good for borders, mass plantings, or erosion control in rocky or gravelly areas. Texas native.
