Sometimes called "Torchwood Copal". Pretty little shrub with deliciously aromatic stems, bark, and sap, usually grown in container, but in a protected outdoor environment can grow to 10' tall (30' in its native forests). Wonderful curly trunk and miniature leaves make it perfect for bonsai. Prefers temps from 70-90 degrees but can withstand a light frost. The resin can be burned like frankincense. Traditionally used medicinally by the native populations in its range, for a variety of purposes including headaches, wounds and other skin conditions, lice, and stingray wounds. The stems have been used to make coil baskets.
