Scarlet 1 1/2" mallow-like red-orange flowers April through September, grows in small, sprawling singles or groups. Hardy perennial to 2 feet, with greyish, divided leaves. Manitoba to Arizona. Great plant tolerant of whatever the central Texas weather can throw at it! Birds love the little fruits. Interesting historical medicinal uses such as scald resistant lotion for skin made from a leaf paste and as a treatment for skin problems or blisters, and for treating sore eyes. Attracts pollinators.
