AKA Russian Boxthorn or Black Wolfberry, it is found in Russia, China, and the Himalayas. A berry-producing plant in the Solanacea family that also contains tomatoes and peppers. Shrubby, sprawling, thorny growth to 6', and produces tons of black berries rich in Vitamins A, C, and E, plus fatty acids, polyphenols, and antioxidants. Traditionally used as a Chinese medicinal herbal tea, and in India to cure blindness in camels! Fruit can be eaten raw, cooked, or dried. Drought-resistant, full sun, and tolerant of both heat and cold.
