Hibiscus schizopetalus --Aloalo Ko'akoa Hibiscus--
Sometimes called "Fringed Rosemallow" or "Japanese Lantern" for the gorgeously lacy, ruffled and fringed flowers, with drooping, 6" stamen. East African native shrub with rich, shiny, dark green foliage grows to 6'. Blooms on short spurs from last year's growth, so blooms better if unpruned. Loves sun and needs rich, moist soil. Deer resistant.
