Vernonia missurica --Missouri Ironweed--

Dramatic magenta burst-shaped blooms are huge draws to bees and butterflies from late summer to early fall when not many other things are providing nectar sources. Full sun, water regularly (does not want to dry out). Deer resistant, spreads through rhizomes, grows up to 5 feet tall.
