Yucca brevifolia --Joshua Tree--

The largest of the yuccas, can grow up to 40' and live hundreds of years. In all the world it is found only in the Mojave desert especially in Queen and Lost Horse valleys, and reproduces only with help of a single species of yucca moth. Makes a large cone of gorgeous, creamy flowers in spring.
