KATUK --Sauropus androgynus--

Really interesting tropical shrub also known as Sweet Leaf Bush or Star Gooseberry. Has been grown throughout Asia as a leaf vegetable for green juice, with a high vitamin B, C, and K, and carotenoid content, though caution should be taken when eating raw due to the high concentration of papaverine, an alkaloid that can be bad for the lungs. Small shoots can be cooked like asparagus, flowers, leaves and fruit have been used as traditional medicine for breastfeeding mothers.
