LEMONGRASS 'Citratus' --Cymbopogon citratus--

Perennial lemon grass abundant in the Philippines & Indonesia where it's known as Tanglad/Sereh. This species is actually where mosquito-repelling citronella oil is derived, not citronella plants at all! Plant in patio borders to discourage the pests. Its fragrant leaves are also traditionally used in cooking. Root hardy in our zone, bushy grower from spring to late fall. Grows well in Texas heat. We recommend dividing and planting further spread out each year to encourage multiplication.
