NETTLE 'Stinging' --Urtica dioica-- known issue: *CAUTION* GLOVES RECOMMENDED

This plant is ancient in its various use among humans - medicine, food, tea, and textiles, going back at least to the Saxons. Herbaceous perennial, flavour similar to spinach/cukes when cooked, and is rich in vitamins A & C, iron, potassium, manganese, and calcium. Have caution when introducing this to your garden! The sting can be serious and long-lasting, but the benefits can outweigh the risks for practiced growers.
