New Zealand endangered native has loads of 3" rose-red flowers that resemble the peak of the kākā parrot. Also sometimes called "lobster claw", growing 4 to 6 feet, flowering spring to summer. Can be espaliered. Protect from hard frosts in a sheltered spot. Low-maintenance, attracts hummingbirds.
