A vigorous, evergreen climber with trilobed leaves and pink flowers followed by round, yellowish fruits that are edible and aromatic. Passiflora coactilis is a plant from cool, high elevation cloud forests in the Andes in South America in southwestern Colombia and in Ecuador between 2200 and 3600 m. it is well adapted to cool conditions and will grow in many warm temperate climates in USDA Zones 9 and above.
