High-yield pecan tree that grows well in full sunlight and slightly acidic to neutral soil, a large shade tree that produces smaller-sized, but high-quality pecan nuts. Preference for hot summer temperatures and high humidity, so specifically great for the Austin area. The wood of the pecan tree is also highly valued for furniture, hardwood flooring, and even as flavoring fuel for smoking meats. Drought and heat tolerant and makes excellent shade.
