Sometimes called "chocolate pudding fruit" or "black soapapple", for the soft, lightly sweet quality of the fruit. Native to Mexico and Central America. Begins to bear at 3-4 years and once productive it makes copious fruit! Dark, glossy leaves on a tall tree make it a stunner as a landscaping tree. Lots of vitamins!
