Delosperma echinatum --Pickle Plant--

Really interesting succulent related to ice plants - fast-growing with chubby green leaves, covered in rows of tiny, white translucent hairs or spines, that not only resemble pickle bristles but also serve as a protective adaptation against herbivores and excessive sunlight. Drought tolerant, deer resistant, and mat-forming up to 2' across, great for rock gardens and trailing edges. Blooms with scattered 1" yellow flowers in spring. Sun/part shade, cold hardy. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.
