POMEGRANATE 'Ambrosia' --Punica granatum--
This is a great hardy pom with large, delicious fruit. Skin is a pale, creamy pink, seeds and juice are rich purple. Very sweet, self fertile. Has a draping habit with many long, slender limbs, but can be trained as a tree form with vigorous pruning. Prune in late winter before new growth appears, this also helps promote fruit production. Harvest in fall, needs about 150 chill hours in winter for fruiting (like most fruit trees including peaches). Full sun. Drought tolerant once established, but needs infrequent deep waterings for the first few years to build a deep root system.
