RADICCHIO 'Treviso Red'

Classic Italian Radicchio. Upright with red and white striped leaves. Baby leaves are curly and can be used for salad, will be green in summer weather and redden as it cools down. 70-100 days depending on weather - radicchio prefers cool. Head growth can be forced by submerging in water - harvest heads when fully firm by cutting 1-2" above soil to allow regrowth. Can have multiple harvests into late fall and early winter, and baby leaves can be harvested as the outer leaves open. Leaves have a tart and bitter taste that can be used cooked, raw, or dried and mixed with coffee.
