Very old heirloom first mentioned by Captain Cook to fight scurvy, and taken with the crew of the Endeavour. Today, it's used as a leafy groundcover and cultivated for its edible leaves, which have similar properties to spinach. This plant thrives in hot weather, and is easy to grow. Few insects bother it, and even slugs and snails leave it alone. Tropically perennial/temperately annual. Does not bolt in hot weather, nor turn bitter. High vitamin C. 55-65 days
