Rhus virens --Evergreen Sumac--
Shrubby tree 8-12 feet, great as an attractive hedge, with red-tinged foliage. Stays green through winter, and re-leafs quickly in the spring. High drought-tolerance, attracts bees & butterflies, and the berries can be used to make a high vitamin C tea. Native Americans mixed the leaves with tobacco to smoke.
