Malvaviscus arboreus var. drummondii --Red Turk's Cap--
Native shrub has pretty blooms that look like little beaded turbans, and produces edible fruit that looks and tastes like tiny apples! Even pops apart into little wedge "slices". Drought tolerant, prefers part to full shade, though will tolerate sunnier spots. Attracts hummingbirds, butterflies, and moths.
