ARTICHOKE 'Ivory White Cardoon'

Bright, white-stemmed variety with gorgeous purple heads. In the thistle family with artichokes, but grown for the stalk, not the flower bud. Can be braised and topped with cheese, put into soups and stews, or deep fried and is delicious every way. Can be grown as a perennial for about 6 years, up to 8 feet tall, starting harvest around 120-150 days. Blanching recommended, though this variety is often referred to as semi-self-blanching.
