Heirloom originating in 1890, it was one of the first "modern type" melons with a heavily netted rind, small seed cavity, and highly juicy, fragrant, and sweet flesh. Cross between 'Osage' and 'Nettedgem'. Yellowish-orange color fruit, 2-3 pounds each, and should pull off the stem easily when ripe. Heirloom, 85 days.
