Uniform, relatively huge, and deliciously flavorful bunching onion is a popular and traditional Japanese variety for sukiyaki, soup, and salads. Up to two feet tall, 1" across, while remaining tender and scallion-like, never forming a bulb. A perfect heat and cold-tolerant green that is a go-to choice to grow alongside Asian greens in the cool season. Exceedingly hardy, works for planting in Autumn for a hibernation spring harvest, or spring for a summer harvest. Suitable for container, can be grown and harvested entire after a year or two, or left in the ground to multiply and harvest a portion when you need it. 40-55 days, old Japanese heirloom.
